A2P 10DLC is the registration required to send SMS to US numbers from a business line. Run a Call submits your Brand and Campaign during your account setup; you check status at Settings → Phone → Messaging.

Why A2P 10DLC exists

The US carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) require that anyone sending application-to-person SMS register their business and the use case. Unregistered traffic gets heavily filtered or blocked entirely. A2P 10DLC is the registration protocol.

Two pieces:

PieceWhat it covers
BrandWho's sending — your business identity, EIN, address.
CampaignWhat the use case is — for Run a Call: customer service, appointment notifications, payment reminders, etc.

How registration happens

Run a Call submits your Brand + Campaign automatically during onboarding using the business info you entered. You don't fill out a separate A2P form — the platform does it on your behalf.

Where to see status

Settings → Phone → Messaging shows the current state:

StatusMeaning
Not startedNothing submitted yet (rare; usually means onboarding skipped a step).
Brand pendingSubmitted, waiting on carrier vetting.
Brand approvedYour business is verified. Campaign is being submitted.
Campaign pendingCampaign use case is in review.
Campaign approvedYou're done with vetting.
ActiveSending is fully enabled.
Note

The full path typically takes 24–72 hours for the standard vetting tier.

What's editable

In the current build, the Settings → Phone → Messaging page is read-only — you can see status but you can't change Brand or Campaign details from the UI. The edit interface is on the roadmap.

If you need to update your Brand or Campaign before that's shipped (e.g. legal name change, address change), contact support.

What if the registration is rejected

Carriers sometimes reject a submission — usually for missing or mismatched business info. Reasons appear on the status page.

ReasonDetail
Address mismatchThe address you registered doesn't match what's on file with the IRS for your EIN.
Mis-categorized use caseThe campaign category doesn't match how you're actually using SMS.

Contact support with the rejection reason; they'll resubmit with corrected info.

After approval

Once you hit Active, SMS sends just work — both automatic (status changes, reminders) and manual (Messages page).
