Job notes are where context lives. There are two kinds: internal (only your team sees them) and customer (the customer can see them).
Adding a note
Open the job → scroll to Notes → click + Note and pick the visibility.

| Note type | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Internal note | Only your team — never the customer, on any surface. |
| Customer note | Shows on the customer project page ("Notes from our team") and in the service report the customer receives. |
The Customer/Internal chip is a real promise now, not a label. A note marked Customer is visible on the customer's project link and in their service report — write it like the customer will read it, because they will.
Notes show in the activity timeline with the author and timestamp.
Editing or deleting notes
Click the note → Edit or Delete. Edits keep history; you'll see edited 2 minutes ago by Maria under the note.
Field techs can edit their own notes for 24 hours after posting. After that, only admins can edit.
Special note types
A few notes have icons that make them stand out:
| Type | What it means |
|---|---|
| ⚠️ Caution | Long-tap a note on mobile and mark it Caution. Shows in red on the tech's job view. |
| 🔧 Equipment | Notes attached to a specific unit on the customer's record; carry across jobs. |
| 📞 Call note | Created automatically from a call recording or AI receptionist transcript. |
Searching notes
The global search bar (top of every page) indexes note text. Type a part name, a customer phrase, or a serial number — matching notes (and the jobs they're on) come up.
