Answers about paying for Run a Call itself — your subscription, add-ons, trial, and invoices from Run a Call. For charging your customers, see Payments overview.
Where do I see what I pay?
Settings → Billing (owners and admins; see Roles and permissions for custom roles). The Subscription card shows your plan, its status, and your next bill or trial end date. What you're billed for lists every line on your subscription with its price, and Invoices lists your past bills with PDFs. See Viewing billing history and downloading receipts.
What does Run a Call cost?
There's one platform plan with unlimited team members and the core product — dispatch, invoices, memberships, and more. Your plan price is shown on Settings → Billing; if you were given a special rate, that's the price you'll see there.
Phone features are add-ons you turn on only if you want them:
| Add-on | Monthly price | Included | Past the included amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Messaging (texting) | $39 | 2,000 SMS | $0.03 per SMS |
| Voice (calling) | $79 | 2,000 voice minutes and your primary number | $0.03 per minute; extra numbers $2.50 each per month |
| AI Receptionist | $99 | 100 answered calls | Not answered by default (Stop at your quota), or $0.75 per call if you allow overage |
If you turn on Voice and Messaging together, the pair costs $99 a month instead of $118. These are the standard add-on prices. If your account has a locked-in or special price, the Billing page shows your exact amounts.
How does the free trial work?
A new account starts on a free trial — the Billing page shows Trial ends with the date. You don't need a card to start. To keep using Run a Call after the trial, click Add payment method on the Billing page before the trial ends; you won't be charged until it's over.
When a trial ends without a card, the app locks and shows Your trial ended — resubscribe to open … again. Your data stays; add a card and subscribe to pick up where you left off.
Do add-ons cost anything during the trial?
No. Add-ons need a card on file to switch on, but they're free during the trial — the first charge lands on your first bill. Turning one on after your trial is over charges a pro-rated amount for the rest of the current billing period.
How is usage over the bundle billed?
Texts and voice minutes past an add-on's bundle are added up during the billing period and appear on your next invoice at the per-unit rates above. Texts and minutes in both directions count, pooled across all your numbers. The Billing page shows your usage so far with Within plan or the overage accrued.
Can the AI Receptionist run up a big bill?
Not by default. With Stop at your quota (the default), the receptionist stops taking calls once it has answered 100 in the billing period, so you're never billed more than the $99. If you'd rather keep answering, choose Allow overage in Settings → Phone → Receptionist — each extra call then bills at $0.75. Doing that during your trial ends the trial right away. Calls filtered as spam don't count toward your 100. See How the AI Receptionist is billed.
When is my card charged?
On your renewal date each billing period. The platform plan, add-ons, and any usage past your bundles are all on the same invoice.
What happens if my card fails?
The subscription shows Past due and the Billing page says Payment failed. Update your card to restore access. You keep full access for 7 days while you fix it. After that, the app locks until the payment goes through. See Updating the card on file for your subscription.
How do I cancel an add-on?
On Settings → Billing, click Cancel add-on on the Messaging, Voice, or AI Receptionist card. It keeps working until the end of the current billing period, then stops, and it drops off your bill. Changed your mind? Reactivate before the period ends.
How do I cancel Run a Call?
Send us a request from Support and we'll take care of it. If your subscription is cancelled, you can Resubscribe from the Billing page to keep your data and settings.
Can technicians see billing?
No. Billing is limited to owners, admins, and any custom role with Integrations & Billing set to Look and change or higher. It's managed in a web browser — the mobile app shows a note to use app.runacall.com.
