Techs enroll customers in memberships from the iPad at the kitchen table. That's where conversions happen — when you're standing there having fixed something and you can show the value.

The flow

  1. Open the customer in the mobile app.
  2. Tap Memberships tab.
  3. + Enroll.
  4. Pick the template (Basic, Plus, VIP).
  5. Show the customer the iPad — savings comparison, included visits, discount.
  6. Customer signs on glass.
  7. Customer enters card details on the iPad.
  8. Confirm enrollment.

The whole flow takes about 2 minutes. The membership is active from the moment the tech confirms; Run a Call sends the customer a payment link for the first cycle's charge.

The pitch (a tech's-eye view)

Most successful tech pitches follow this shape:

  1. Frame the work you just did"This capacitor going out is a sign the system's getting tired."
  2. Show the membership value"For $19 a month, we'd come check it twice a year. If we'd caught this last fall, we wouldn't be here today."
  3. Math the savings on this visit"Today's bill would have been $X with Comfort Club instead of $Y. You'd have saved $Z."
  4. Ask"Want me to sign you up so the next surprise costs you less?"

The math comparison in step 3 is on the iPad's enrollment screen — show it to them.

Live discount on this invoice

If the customer enrolls before the tech closes the job, the member discount applies to today's invoice retroactively. The savings show up on the same invoice the tech is about to send.

This is the closing move: "Sign up now and you save $15 on this visit alone." — and the iPad shows it happening.

Re-enrolling a lapsed member

If the customer was a member, lapsed, and the tech wants to re-enroll:

  1. Open customer → Memberships tab.
  2. Past membership shows under Inactive.
  3. Reactivate → confirms or pick a new template.

The card on file is reused if it's still valid.

Sub-tech permissions

Field techs can enroll customers in memberships only if Settings → Roles → Field tech → Can enroll in memberships is on. Default is on for new accounts.

Reporting on tech-enrolled members

The Memberships report has a column Enrolled by — see which techs are converting kitchen-table sign-ups vs which ones aren't. Pair with Settings → Commission Rates to put a bounty on member sign-ups.
