A team member's profile is where you set their identity in the system. Admins manage these for the whole team; users can also edit their own basic info.
What's on a profile
| Field | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Full name | Dispatch board, customer-facing messages, signatures |
| Login | |
| Phone | 2FA (if SMS is the method) and notifications |
| Avatar | Dispatch board and message threads |
| Role | Owner, Admin, Staff, or Field tech — see Roles and permissions |
| Hourly rate | Labor cost calculations on profitability reporting |
| Active status | Toggled off when someone leaves — see Disabling a team member |
| Invited at | Timestamp of when the invite was sent |
Editing your own profile
- Open your profile menu (top right).
- Profile settings.
- Edit your name, phone, avatar, password, or 2FA.
- Save.
Note
You can't change your own role or hourly rate — those are admin-managed.
Editing someone else's profile (admin / owner only)
- Settings → Team.
- Pick the team member.
- Edit.
- Adjust any field — name, email, phone, role, hourly rate, active status.
- Save.
Hourly rate
The hourly rate drives:
| Surface | Effect |
|---|---|
| Job profitability | Labor cost = hours × rate. If rate is blank, labor cost shows as $0 and your margin numbers will look unrealistically rosy. |
| Tech scorecard $/hour | Divides revenue by clocked hours; not affected by rate directly but informs interpretation |
Tip
Set rates accurately — even a rough estimate beats leaving them blank.
Resetting a password
Admin can trigger a password reset for any team member: open their profile → Send password reset. The user gets an email with a reset link.
For your own password reset, click Forgot password on the sign-in screen.
What you can NOT edit on a profile
- Email signature — not a configurable field today.
- Service areas per tech — no field.
- Skills array — skills live on the separate Skills & Certifications page (see Assigning skills).
- Department / team grouping — no concept of sub-teams within an org.
