A payment link is a short URL that opens the customer-facing payment page. They can pay by card, ACH, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — no Run a Call account needed.
Sending the default link
Every invoice has a payment link built in. When you click Send, the link is included in the SMS and email automatically.
The link looks like:
https://pay.runacall.com/<short-token>
It's secure (HMAC-signed) and tied to the one invoice.
Resending the link
If the customer says "I didn't get it":
- Open the invoice.
- Click Send reminder → choose SMS, Email, or Both.
The same link goes out.
Copying the link
To paste it into a different channel — Slack with the office, a WhatsApp chat, a sticky note — click ⋯ → Copy payment link on the invoice.
Sending from mobile
On the mobile app:
- Open the invoice or the job.
- Tap Share payment link.
- Pick the channel (Messages, Mail, WhatsApp, AirDrop).
When the link stops working
Payment links stay live as long as the invoice is open and payable. They stop working automatically when the invoice is voided or fully paid — the link page shows "This invoice is no longer payable" in those cases.
To kill a link you sent in error, void the invoice (How to delete or void an invoice) and re-issue from a fresh draft.
